Foot reflexology is a holistic practice and a form of massage therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the foot. According to traditional Chinese medicine, these points correspond to various organs in the body. Here’s how it works: Pressure Points: Stimulation of specific points on the feet that correspond to various organs in the body. These points are believed to be connected through energy pathways. Gentle pressure and no pain: Typically, there is no pain during the process, and people often feel like they’re getting a foot massage. It’s a relaxing experience. Benefits: Foot reflexology may help with stress reduction, relaxation, pain management, digestion, hormone balance and improved sleep. It’s beneficial to have multiple sessions for optimal progress. Scraping (Gua Sha) is a technique most commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). As Traditional Thai Medicine has its roots in TCM, it also uses Gua Sha, called Scraping in Thai medicine. It works on the tissue layer using tools that have a thin but not sharp edge to gently and repetitively rub the skin. It is commonly used for facial massage. Scraping (Gua Sha) is wonderful for releasing tension and excess heat, and detoxing the body, drawing pathogens to the surface of the body where the skin can act as an organ of elimination to be rid of them.
